Ain't it kind of funny? How time slips away....

Good Afternoon my dear friends and followers!  Such a long time since I last posted.  Life is what happens while a person is making plans.....  So much to appreciate, so little time.

Photo by my friend, John Francis McCarthy of  five of the eleven Fingerlakes of Central NY at sunset.  Truly in the right place at the right time. (Courtesy of John Francis McCarthy)

I thought it was a moment that had passed
But it was half a year or more.
How time has flown since we visited last
Since you came and knocked upon my door.

I look for you from my window,
Hoping to see you on the path,
With your smiling face as you walk
And your soothing voice as we talk.

The memories are fond and sweet
Our visits were to me a great treat.
A wonderful respite added to my day
Even with rain or skies of gray,
You lit up my life, made my day.

So come again, will you not?
We will have tea and talk a lot.
Because no time passes between
Two friends, we just take up
Where we left off again....

Good Morning God

I awoke so full of love and so inspired as the sunshine filled my humble home and my heart with God's abiding love....

Good Mornin' Lord

   (c)Kerrie O'Hearn Marquart

I rose this morn to greet the day
I prayed to God to show me the way
His love a lamp unto my feet
His Son lighting my heart with love
His Sun shining down from above
How blessed I am, How sweet His love.

He gives me a song in my heart each day
He fills my soul with joy as I pray
He shows Himself in every bird and flower
My joy renews hour by hour
Because of His sweet love that saved me.

Thank you so much for coming and com again soon!

Loss of a Friend...

A beautiful heart stopped beating
While God held it in the palm of His hand
We weep for you, Carol, because we are left behind.
But you are now with God and with that thought
We find...Peace.
I will always see your beautiful smile
I never saw you any other way.
And though I will miss the beauty
of all the love you shared,
I know you are now still in His hand
~ in peace.

Saturday Chores

Saturday Chores
        by Kerrie O'Hearn Marquart

Saturday again, oh me oh my

The laundry is piled right to the sky
I don't know where it all comes from
We're just two of us but it's quite a sum!
Sort and pile, three today!
I should have done it sooner
As now I have to pay!

Into the dryer one by one
And then it's folding,
That's no fun!
And in between I write these lines,
And peer out the window at beautiful pines
With Sunlight all around me.

Again I'll vow to do some laundry mid-week
And again I will probably instead, seek
Crocheting, drawing, blogging and such
And that is how I end up with so much
Laundry on Saturday Morning!

Easter Song

When the children were young, I wrote a song for Easter.  I was very filled with the spirit and love of the Lord and just wrote what I felt.  I am sorry you cannot hear the music to the words, maybe someday I will make a recording to attach...

This is my Lord
   ♫      ©Kerrie O'Hearn Marquart
This is my Lord,
He died for me
Upon the cross
Now I am free.

I see the blood
I feel the pain
Now blood is wine
And bread is He.

This is my Lord
How can it be?
My Lord has Risen
For you and me. ♫

From my Christian heart to yours.

KINDNESS

Whose heart is hurting today, who can you comfort?  When you give, you receive and kindness is rewarded.

KINDNESS
           by Kerrie O’Hearn Marquart     3/09/14

Kindness is its own reward, this I know ‘tis true
For when I show kindness to others,
It makes my heart swell with joy
As Lord, I feel filled with You.

There are those who need comfort
And we may be the only one
Who can comfort them this day.
You never know what your Hug can do
When given in a Jesus way.

Sadness is a lonely place when one feels alone
But sharing the burden with others
Lessens the heaviness they hold
Be Christian sisters and brothers
Welcome them into the fold.

A heart may be hurting,
A tear may be ready to spill
But you can make a difference
If only, only you will.
Bless you for your kindnesses
For God loves a cheerful giver ~still.

The first and last oil painting by my Bill  Fall of 2012

Remembering
     by Kerrie O’Hearn Marquart

Valentine’s Day and I am remembering
Sitting by the fire on the shore
The Lake so quiet except for gentle
  Lapping at the rocky shore.

You and I so in love
Your arm around my shoulder
How wonderful we made memories
I could enjoy now that I am much older.
  Now that you are gone….

Tears sting my eyes but you were so sweet
And when we married
My life was complete
For I loved you more than life.

I remember walking in snow,
Your hand completely covering mine
To keep mine from the getting cold.
  We were enraptured.

There could never be another for me
God chose you especially for me
A precious gift from up above
And now you dwell in His sweet Love
  Still watching over me.

At least I have Sweet memories
Of you and youth and Love.
Even though I cannot see
 You dwelling now above.

I look forward to meeting you by the gate
When I am enfolded in God’s love and Grace
To dwell with you once more.
In the clouds forever up above.

Silent footsteps....

SILENT FOOTSTEPS
         By Kerrie O'Hearn Marquart

I walk along this lonely path of life
Your foot falls silent here.
But loving you was wonderful and
I wouldn't have missed a year!

Memories crowd my mind and heart
So many I am blessed!
Our love did not stop when losing you
It just grew stronger and became a greater part
Of all that I am today.

Two years have passed since you left me here
All alone and feeling blue
But my belief is strong that we shall meet
In God's heaven and I will again be joined with you.

GIVING THANKS...
                                  by Kerrie O'Hearn Marquart

When first I fold my hands in prayer,
All those far away are present here.
If not in sight, they are in my heart
God unites us in every part
  Together on this day.

Another Thanksgiving memory
With family, a gift from God to me
I will look back on this day,
and smile at what was your way
To make me laugh in times past.

The warmth of candles, oven and love
Filling the kitchen, my heart and some~
Left over to spill on days ahead
I'll remember all as I break my bread
On ordinary days.

All God's love from up above
As the Egret flies and Mallards come
Visiting the bank in Autumn sun,
Gracing my world with the Holy One.

Thanking you for every tiny thing
You have ever given to me
For without you Lord and my memories,
Where would this soul be?

GOOD NIGHT
     by Kerrie O'Hearn Marquart 11/24/2010

Good night burning embers in the sky
Good night Mallards floating by
Good night silhouetted trees against the sky
Good night to all the birds that fly
Silently above the clouds to find
Their roosting place that will be kind
      Until the morning light...

You Can Go Home Again...

Good morning friends, I've missed you.  I am now in my home in Auburn, NY, my hometown.  It is so good to be here!

I can come home again
  @Kerrie O'Hearn Marquart

I have always heard it said
  You can't go home again.
But I am pleased to tell you,
  You CAN come home again!

The streets of my hometown,
Are still the same to me,
The sidewalks leading to downtown
Or anywhere else I choose to be.

My town is full of history
With homes of famous people
And churches are still standing
With towering bell towers and steeple.

I have missed you sweet place of my birth
I longed to return to you, my roots, my worth.
I feel closer to my Bill again,
Remembering our youth as we were then.

I am finding peace and calmness here
Thank you Lord for bringing me here.
Whatever time I have left on earth,
I choose to spend it in the town of my birth.

Wedding Poetry

I dream of writing greeting card verses like Helen Steiner Rice.  Some of these wedding poems were written for friends and relatives and I am sharing now with you.

For Tami and Ed:

Today, as we stand here before God
And give to one another all of self
To share and treasure from this day forward.

May the blessings of God's love shower down upon us,
Giving new meaning to our lives.
Merging two hearts together we are the whole.

May the sun never set with anger between us,
and may we ever rise with love
And a song of praise on our lips.
For the Creator found a perfect match for
   each of us.
He in his wisdom knew what each of us needed.

Now we have pledged to one another
All of our love, our lives, our hearts.
And in God's great scheme of things,
May we always be a part.

I bring to you little but a loving, humble heart.
And you give to me a beauty from within and
A promise never to part.

Lord, bless this sacred day when two hearts are
     joined as one.
May we never forget as we walk life's path, to walk
    beside the Son.
My Christian heart to yours...

Our Wedding Day

Today, I will be giving up all the single parts of me
I humbly give them over to the oneness of you and me.
What God has preciously joined, let no man part.
For today and for always, we will hold
   each other in our hearts.
After the last toast and when all the guests are gone
What remains is God's gift of love
To build our new lives on.

Our Wedding Day
                   ©Kerrie O'Hearn Marquart

This is the day you and I have waited for.
Remember, this day can never happen again.
There will never be a moment so sweet
A beginning so fresh and new.

Something old, something new, something
borrowed, something blue.
A lifetime of dreams to share with you.

WEDDING DAY
                                 ©Kerrie O'Hearn Marquart

Whatever can I give to you
On this our blessed day.
Will you accept a loving heart
And little else, I pray?

I've nothing in this world
That is worthy to bestow
Upon such a love as sweet as you are
God has blessed me so.

What can I still tell you that you've
not heard before?
"I love you", seems inadequate for
what I am feeling but saying
With words so poor.

I guess I 'll just give to you, my pledge
That I will cherish forever what we have
And all the things that happen today
In memories we will save.

I pray to God to bless this holy union made
I pray that through the coming years
Our Love will never fade.
But grow stronger, bigger, better until
There is no room anywhere
To hold the wonderful feelings
That we have and will always share!

For a Granddaughter's Wedding Day
© Kerrie O'Hearn Marquart

Whose little feet did I hear
Running down the hall
Whose little giggle did I hear
When I warned you not to fall?

Whose little braids went bouncing
That first day of kinder school
Whose little pictures were put on the frig
As you climbed the kitchen stool?

Who came to show us the Prom dress,
And the Graduation hat
The first car, the first date
We weren't prepared fore that.

Who is that walking down the aisle
Granddaughter, can that be you?
Grandpa gave you something old,
I gave you something blue.

How beautiful you are
How wonderful you've been
Praise God we are here to see this day
And may someday hear little feet again...

DAUGHTER'S MARRIAGE
                     ©Kerrie O'Hearn Marquart

When you were a child, we could never imagine
    Walking you down the aisle.
It seemed like such a long way off
It was hard to think you would grow up
As you played in the old sand pile.

When you were a teen, it was hard to let go.
We always wanted to cushion your blows.
And when we bought your prom gown
I saw how lovely you had grown.

Well, that little girl in pigtails
Has grown far from the vine.
And now someone else has your heart
But I'll always hold you in mine.

And someday may you be blessed
With a precious girl or boy
You will understand all the love and pride we feel
Dear daughter, you are such a joy!

As we give you to another
Who loves you as much as we
Remember home is where the hug is
And the hugs are from Dad and me.
